Things to Do on Pine Island, Florida


The latest Pine Island visitors guide was just published and has a helpful summary of things to do on Pine Island:


(1) Where to Stay?  There are 17 inns, motels, lodges, apartments, and cottages where you can stay, in addition to the KOA.


(2) Where to Browse?  There are 19 different galleries, gardens, shops and boutiques on Pine Island, most of which have fine art by many local artists.


(3) Where to fish?  The waters surrounding Pine Island include M atlacha Pass, Charlotte Harbor, Pine Island Sound or San Carlos Bay.   If you don't fish from the fishingest bridge in Matlacha, or the fishing piers in Matlacha or Bokeelia, there are six local marinas listed from where you can launch your boat.


(4) Where to eat?  There are 28 different eateries in the Pine Island communities of Matlacha, Bokeelia, Pineland, Pine Island Center and Saint James City, including bar and grills, fine dining, fast food, Oriental, Italian, Seafood, Ice Cream, Pizza, Fish Houses, Deli's and cafe's.


(5) Where to play?  Matlacha Park, Matlacha Drawbridge, St. Jude Nature Trail, Pine Island Flatwoods Preserve, Pine Island Public Library, Museum of the Island, Phillips Park (playground and tennis courts), Pine Island Public Pool, Fritts Park, Bokeelia fishing pier, Pineland canoe access, Randell Research, and Little Pine Island's Wetland Preserve.
