White Pelicans Return to Bokeelia

My Zimbio
Top Stories

I enjoyed a lovely bike ride up in Bokeelia this morning, and was glad to see some flocks of white pelicans.  I had seen them before this winter, but not close up.  They came rushing over to the dock
in Jug Creek, no doubt hoping I was a fisherman ready to feed them fish guts.  But I had nothing for them.

On a twelve mile bike ride, I saw lots of other species of birds: kingfisher, ibis, osprey, brown pelicans, mockingbird, catbird, cardinal, killdeer, mourning dove, flicker, woodpecker, kestrel, red shouldered hawk, seagulls and black birds.  I'm looking forward to the Audubon Great Backyard Bird Count
in February!
