This weekend kayakers, fisher-people, and paddle boarders celebrate the beautiful waters surrounding Pine Island at the Great Calusa Blueway Festival.
Fall has come in with really great weather on Pine Island, cool and breezy mornings. These guys were going out kayak fishing from Pineland the other day and the mullet were just LEAPING out of the water.
There are several great places to launch your boat on Pine Island, including the Pineland marina and the Bocilla Island Seaport, up at the tip of Bokeelia. Both have boat ramps and you can rent kayaks too!
Pine Island is just about the nicest place you can be to enjoy island waters and a laid back lifestyle.
Here's the Bokeelia fishing pier overlooking Charlotte Harbor, where you can fish all day for $8.00.
