I hadn't been down to Matlacha Community Park in a while so the other day I took a walk thru. I discovered the County has installed a new, two tier floating dock on the water on the east side of Matlacha Pass. This is a great little feature, shady and easy to fish from. The day I was there, several teenage boys were enjoying the last day of school by fishing after school. There is also a long fishing pier into Matlacha Bay, that is a good place to fish from too.
You don't need to live on the water to enjoy being by the water on Pine Island.
