Sunrises and sunsets on Pine Island are often very beautiful, especially when the seasons are during and different air masses are arriving.
This was sunrise over Pine Island Sound in Bokeelia today. I'm always reminded of my high school ninth grade English class, (thanks Mr. Sprague) where we started studying the Homeric poems.
The phrase (translated from the Greek) "Rosy fingered dawn" has alway stuck with me, and the wispy pink clouds of sunrise over the water reminds me of that. This phrase describes Eos, the Greek goddess of dawn.
