After a very mild winter, a cold front blew in yesterday...not real cold but very cool and windy. We had a little rain and I enjoyed going to the 40th annual Matlacha Art Fair with friends. Then, it was fun watching my more athletic friends go windsurfing in Pine Island Sound off of Pineland. They really were flying in about 25 mph hour winds, they can zip from Pineland to Captiva Pass in a matter of minutes!
There are so many great activities to enjoy on Pine Island, even for those of us not brave enough to windsurf (especially in February!) : bike riding our 17 mile bike path, swimming and aerobics at the community pool, golf at Alden Pines golf course, sailing, kayaking, yoga at various island locations, gallery and restaurant hopping, and of course, fishing.
