January 21, 7 pm: Fishing Seminar at Ole Pine Island Marine on Stringfellow Road in Matlacha. Captain Joe Hebert talks on how to catch pompano and trout, seafood cocking demonstration by Captain Dick May.
January 22, 11 am - 5 pm: Taste of Pine Island at Phillips Park in Pine Island Center. Chowder Tasting, music entertainment, arts and crafts, children's playground.
January 29, 10 am - 3 pm: Pine Island Moose Bicycle Poker Run, at the Moose Lodge in St. James City, Florida. For more info, call the Pine Island Moose at 239-283-4245.
February 11 and 12: Annual Pine Island Art Show in Matlacha. Hundreds of talented artist display and sell their works at Matlacha Community Center in Matlacha Park. Lots of local shops are open and have demonstrations, workshops and more.
February 12, 9 am - 2 pm, Pine Island Library at Pine Island Center, Winter Book Sale.
February 19, 9 am - 2 pm, Pine Island Garden Club has it's native and tropical plant sales, along with seminar and garden advice, handicrafts and bake sale at Pine Island Center, Phillips Park.
