The county owned boat ramp at the corner of Bowline Drive and Barrancas has re-opened, complete with new docks and refurbished ship's store, parking lot and rest rooms. This boat ramp has great access to Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico. Fees are $5 to park, $5 to launch. Other places to launch a boat on Pine Island include: Maria Drive Marina (weekends/holidays only), Matlacha Park, Pineland Marina and St. James Marina. Places to launch a kayak or canoe include Waterfront Park in Pineland, Tropical Point Park in St. James City, Matlacha Park and Coastal Connection Marina in Bokeelia.
