January 2010 Events on Pine Island, Florida

After the slow months of summer and fall, Pine Island events jump to life in the winter and spring season. Here's a sampling of upcoming fun events on Pine Island:

Creative Coast Weekends are the second weekend of each month, when island galleries keep their doors open late and offer food and music along with art by local artists.

January 16, The Pine Island Hobby Club will have at sale at the St. James Civic Association.

January 24, Taste of Pine Island in Phillips Park lets local restaurants showcase their fare and local artists and musicians are also featured.

January 30 bring Music on the Mounds at the Randell Archeological Research Center of Waterfront Drive in Pineland. Tickets are available at the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce.

Bird Watching Excursions are also available on Little Pine Island, where you may find a Little Blue Heron, like this one I photographed stealing bait from a shrimp boat yesterday!
