Since the excitement of a near miss by Tropical Storm Fay last week, it's been quiet here on Pine Island. We had four pretty rainy days and probably had a total of about 8 inches of rain in Bokeelia. I finally got a a chance to go out biking and here are a few pictures from around the island this weekend: the tropical fruit stand on Baypoint Road had a fish fry and was selling some great ripe tropical fruit, including Dragon Fruit, which I had never tried before. I met Natasha heading out in her kayak from Batty's Landing Saturday morning in Pineland.
There've been zero real estate sales here on the island since August 9, but that will change. August and September are traditionally our slowest time of year when people are either on summer vacation, or getting the kids back to school.
