The first few days of 2008 were unusually cold for Pine Island with temps going into the 30's at night and barely out of the 50's during the day. Still, it was nice to have jeans and sweatshirt weather, back to the high 70's tomorrow. Some golfers were out early at Alden Pines Golf Course and eagles were nesting on a tree across the road from my house in the past few days. The first real estate sale of 2008 was a lot that sold at 15514 Martinique Way in Bokeelia, one-half acre for $20,000! Prices are definitely more affordable right now, I believe we have hit or are close to hitting the bottom. These prices are similar to 2002 before the big double digit run up in prices here, through 2006.
