Fall at last on Pine Island! Last week was so calm, the waters over Pine Island sound were like glass, reflecting the clouds above.
Then the winds switched around with Hurricane Jerry out in the Atlantic, and we've been getting nice northeasterly breezes, especially up on Charlotte Harbor, where a couple guys were netting mullet and bait over the weekend.
But it is still tropical here, warm enough that bananas, papaya and mangos are still growing. Friends gave me this GIANT bunch of bananas from their tree yesterday! Time to make banana bread!
