Art Fair in Matlacha, Tortoises in Bokeelia

This month has been sunny and cool, beautiful weather!  Strawberries are in season and I fed a few to one of the many gopher tortoises that frequent our neighborhood...he really seemed to enjoy them!

This morning I went to the annual Pine Island Art Association art show and sale in Matlacha.  The variety and quality of the paintings was excellent as usual, with many different types of methods being used to create wonderful art:  acrylic, oil, water color, pastel, pencil, pen and ink, collage.  A
wonderful art show.  I added to my flock of paintings of local birds with this painting of a pelican, that I especially liked:

 

The art show is the second weekend of February every year and will continue until 4 pm today and 10-4 p.m. tomorrow...its wonderful to view the work of so many talented local artists.
