There are three public boat ramps on Pine Island: The Matlacha Boat Ramp, The Bowline Street Marina and Boatramp in Bokeelia and the old Fisherman's Coop boatramp on Maria Drive. The Fisherman's coop is only open to the public on weekends and federal holidays.
There are also a number of private marinas where you can launch a boat including the Pineland marina in Pineland, the Viking Marina in Matlacha, the Monroe Canal Marina in St. James City and the Four Winds and Jug Creek Marina in Bokeelia.
To launch a motorless canoe, kayak or small boat, you can go to Fritt's Park in Bokeelia (on a good tide) or the small Lee County Park at Tropical Point in St. James City, or the small waterfront park near Randell Research on Waterfront Drive in Pineland. Pine Island has more places for boating access than any where else in Lee County!
